Reflex sights are definitely the most common type of non-magnifying reflex sights. They use a little LED which projects a coloured jolt of light contrary to an lens. The lens acts like a mirror, so representing the dot of sunshine back towards your own eyes and letting you see the red-dot throughout the entire sight.
